Next Generation Ministries is committed to the safety of all of our campers, volunteers, and camp staff in 2021. With that in mind, we have created a more robust set of safety and cleaning policies to make this summer our best summer yet! Although we will not always be able to maintain a distance of 6ft from one another, because this is camp after all, we will do whatever we can to keep distance while maintaining highest caliber of excitement.

Camper Groups:

Groups will now be limited to 8 campers with 1 counselor and 1-2 volunteers and crew from the local church. These groups will be categorized by their choice of activity first and their age second. This will allow us to maintain as much physical distance as possible

  • Groups during the day will stay separate from one another, maintaining at least 6ft distance
  • Each group will not directly interact with another group during the day

Cleaning Procedures

All of the church property and camp equipment will be disinfected daily by staff and volunteers. Extra time and hand cleaning will take place as well.

  • Masks for campers will not be required but will be strongly recommended when outdoor activities are not taking place
  • All camp staff and local church volunteers will be required to wear masks unless participating in outdoor physical activities
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be set up in every classroom as well as at the camp entrance
  • Camp Staff will disinfect camp equipment after camp each day
  • After each group leaves a particular station, the items and area will be wiped down and disinfected so the next group will be able to use clean equipment

 Check in/out:

Our Check in and out process is being redesigned to limit the number of people inside the building at one time.

  • At check in, only 10 families will be allowed inside simultaneously. Remaining families will wait 6 ft apart outside.
  • Also at check in, only 1 adult will be allowed inside with their camper(s) in order to limit numbers indoors.
  • Our spirit tunnel entrance will continue but will be further spaced apart.
  • Campers will have their temperature checked daily. Any camper, volunteer, or camp staffer measuring over 100 degrees will have to be sent home for the day.  We will also be asking questions regarding other physical symptoms.
  • At check out parents/pick ups will be asked to remain in their cars, lined up. Camp staff will ask to see IDs and radio in to the front desk. All standard pick up policies will apply and the pick up must be one of the approved pick ups listed on their camper registration.

Larger group activities

Our large group activities will be altered to maintain social distancing.

  • Outdoor games will be limited to camper groups
  • Other alterations will be made on an activity by activity basis

 DAB (Dancing and Bible) Time

With worship and singing being a high risk of transmission of sicknesses, DAB time is being moved outside and socially distanced.

  • Whenever possible DAB time will be taking place outdoors around the “camp fire”.
  • Camper groups will be staying together during this time and will remain at least 6 ft from other groups

 Meal Times

Each church will have a different process for lunch and snack, but a few things will remain consistent at each camp.

  • Groups will be released to lunch in a staggered format to avoid congestion in common spaces.
  • Each camper group will either eat in their home rooms, outside, or appropriately socially distanced in the common lunch space
  • If a church provides lunch it will be prepackaged/brown bagged. In other words, no serve yourself/buffet style lunches will be provided.  Campers may bring their own lunches as desired
  • Snacks, likewise, will be brought to campers in their own classrooms, wrapped.

Lost and Found

In the name of safety, items left at camp will be discarded on Friday after camp. There will be opportunities during camp hours for campers to view items in lost and found. These items will be kept behind the main camp desk and can be seen upon request.
