FAQ’s

When does camp registration close?

Registration for NextGen Overnight Camps close two weeks before the start of each camp. Registration for NextGen Day Camp closes the Sunday prior to the first day of camp.

Are scholarships available?

All camping scholarships are provided through the local church. For NextGen Overnight Camps, contact your local church who will be able to provide a discount code. For NextGen Day Camps, contact the host church of the camp.

What is the cancellation policy?

  • Camp refunds will be issued accordingly, minus a $25 administrative fee.
  • A month or more before the first day of camp, a 100% refund will be issued.
  • Four to two weeks before the first day of camp, a 50% refund will be issued.
  • Any cancellation that occurs less than two weeks before camp will receive no refund. If a camper does not show for the first day of camp, there will be no refund issued.
  • In the event of illness, accident or family emergency, it is necessary to call the Office of Next Generation Ministries.

What is Heartland?

Heartland is one of Missouri United Methodist Conference’s partner for NextGen Day Camps. They are headquartered out of Parkville, Missouri, and are affiliated with the larger Presbyteries of Heartland and Northern Kansas, Synod of Mid-America, and Presbyterian Church (USA). The mission of Heartland is “In response to the Good News of Jesus Christ, Heartland Presbyterian Center provides hospitality and programming in a natural setting for individuals, families, churches, and the community.” Visit www.heartlandcamps.org for more information.

What is Eagle Lake?

Eagle Lake is a Missouri United Methodist Conference partner for NextGen Day Camps. They are headquartered out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and are affiliated with the larger Navigators college-aged ministry. Eagle Lake has spent over 100 years witnessing to children at their camps in Colorado and have recently started their day camping ministry to utilize the lessons they have learned to reach out to children all across the country. What does my child need to bring to camp?

We will be sending a camper welcome letter two weeks prior to the start of camp with directions to camp, a packing list and medication information. Contact Scott Burdin with questions.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Bible, notebook and pen
  • Sleeping bag or sheets
  • Blanket and pillow
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Beach towel
  • Soap and shampoo
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug repellent
  • Camera
  • Flashlight
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Flip flops and/or water shoes
  • Modest swimsuit
  • Clothes for each day of camp plus an extra set
  • Light jacket
  • Medications in original container (if needed)
  • Permission slips (if needed)

WHAT NOT TO BRING:

  • MP3 players
  • Cell phones
  • Computers
  • Video games
  • Any electronic equipment
  • Any weapons
  • Any food or drinks – it isn’t allowed in the cabins
  • Jewelry
  • Cigarettes, alcohol, drugs
  • Fireworks, lighters, matches

How can I communicate with my camper during the week?

Parents can send emails to their campers at Camps2k15@gmail.com. Parents will need to put their camper’s name and the name of the camp they are attending in the subject line. Camp staff will check the email account daily and distribute emails during meal times or other time decided upon with the camp director.
