Church Day Camp Application 2024

Through NextGen Ministries’ day camp offerings, the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church seeks to connect the community to its local church, equip the church for outreach and provide discipleship for a new generation. Partner with us to invest in young people who desperately need to experience the love and grace of our mighty God.

Things to consider before hosting

Volunteers

In order to create a healthy and successful camp experience, a camp leadership team must be in place. The types of volunteers you will need for you leadership team include: Check in/out, kitchen, advertising, volunteer recruitment, host home recruitment and camper family follow-up.

Financing

In order to finance camp, your team may need to utilize multiple of the following: Church budget, special offerings, fundraising and/or donors.

Youth Involvement

Camp is not just for 6-12 year olds! There will be opportunities for your youth ages 13-18 to assist as junior counselors and crew members. These youth play an integral part in the camp experience.

Follow-Up

Camp continues far past just the one-week event. Before partnering with a church, NextGen Ministries would like to confirm that a plan of continued growth is in place for the local church. If selected for camp, you may be asked for your church’s plan to follow up with campers and their families.

Church Requirements

In order to host a day camp with Conference financial assistance, local churches must commit to two conditions. If you agree, select yes in in the spaces provided.
The local church will commit to be in communication with NextGen Ministries staff via phone or in-person at least once per month after being selected. *
The local church will attend the post camp debrief meeting with NextGen Ministries (to be scheduled after church’s selection). *
